EDIT: Sorry, doesn't look like you can on Safari, Maps, Google Earth, or Atomic Web.

In the maps application just go to a location that has streetview.

There a little pop up will propose to provide extra details.

Click on the Man icon on the left and you go into streetview.

To exit streetview, click on the round orientation spot.

The icon only shows up if there is street view.

Can you not drop a pin on the iPad version of Google Maps? It works on the iPhone. (sorry I couldn't rotate the picture as I'm on my iPhone now)

Yup got it. Thanks to all who responded. I must have been having a brainstorm or something, the location I was looking at in Spain hasn't any streetview photo's.
