Hate to break it to you but you can not switch the white band out for the black band as they are are not in the same collection. (SGS is different collection then AWS) You would be able to exchange for a pink, blue or green. otherwise you are going to have to purchase the black sport

I am sorry that I forgot the "+" in my original post. I have coverage on the watch until May 2017.

My watch with the extra "+" coverage would have been close to 500.00. I ordered the black watch very late in the game and was not expecting it until July(ish). So for 50.00, I have one in hand now. I really don't mind the color of the actual watch, I'd rather have a black band but it's not a big deal.

Thank you for updating, that makes sense now. :)

As far as Applecare vs +, it's obviously confusing as you even have blogs that say the same thing. Maybe my thinking is carried over from my iPhone purchases and the watch is different.

From iMore...

"Every iPhone you purchase, whether it's sold by Apple or another retailer, comes with a 1-year limited warranty called AppleCare . This coverage costs you nothing and is automatically activated the day you purchase your iPhone. These are the things that the free version of AppleCare offers -
1-year limited warranty against defects 90 days complimentary phone support The basic version of AppleCare does not protect against any kind of accidental damage. That's where AppleCare+ comes into play."

Apple will swap out the band but I would have to get the original owner to start that process. Basically, he'd be charged and when the new band arrived and the old one returned, he'd get his refund. Or I can buy a new one and be done with it with a law enforcement discount. Either way, I am happy that I have the watch and I don't have to wait. Yes, I am impatient...

You might try out some of the band swapping websites that have popped up. Might read reviews to see which ones are legit. You might also try the Marketplace subforum or Craigslist.

Nice, I cheated too, but in two ways. I had the 42mm Milanese on order, but found one also on craigslist for $700 with AppleCare!! I thought it might be too good to be true, but thought why not try it. Skip head a few days, now I have watch that I would have cost me about $840 with tax and all, for $700 AND I just it 3-4 week early! I am very happy about this purchase.

That bit? iMore have it wrong (and they obviously aren't Apple).

What comes as standard has only ever been (and been called) a 1-year limited warranty :)

There WAS a point in time where the "+" and "not +" versions of the AppleCare extended warranty were both available for some products. Even then, they were both always at extra cost.

These days, you can't buy "just" AppleCare for products like, for example, iPhone. You can only buy the AppleCare+ flavour, with its added accidental damage cover.

You did great! Just looking back at the posts in this thread . . . . typical for the Apple forums.

Enjoy your new watch! I added Applecare + to mine as I can see it getting damaged due to it being a wearable. Worth the money!

No-one's having a go - everyone (nearly) always knew exactly what you meant
