Welcome to the Mac. You should soon find that it's awesome. I recommend getting the iStat Nano widget for your Dashboard - it provides some useful system stats such as temperatures to help you troubleshoot if a problem occurs. It's also free too.

EDIT: Now i see that it's says MBP on the computerscreen on the box, not macbook

Another tip - make sure you keep your Mac updated. You've probably booted it up for the first time by now so you should just check for any new updates as there have been a few recently. New updates might've come out while the Mac's been sitting on the shelf in the shop.

I just got my first Mac too, an this one is the actual Macbook. I got Best Buy to price match Apple's student discount. Apparently their computers haven't updated the new price point, so I got the new one for $899! So far I like how when the desktop pops up while booting up, you are good to go; unlike Windows where you have wait for it too load. I also thought the 2 GB ram would be a problem, but so far, I am not having any multitasking problems.

i remember the day i got my firsy MBP...i was like a little kid on christmas morning! haha i love my MBP i bought a old white MP a couple years ago as a "backup" cuz it was a really good deal...cant wait to get some money together to buy a new MBP
