    iStat Nano Widget

I see you took advantage of Apple's current Mac offer for students.

Welcome to the Mac. You should soon find that it's awesome. I recommend getting the iStat Nano widget for your Dashboard - it provides some useful system stats such as temperatures to help you troubleshoot if a problem occurs. It's also free too.

Wow, I see loads of new people to the Mac all the time. On the Apple Discussions forums, on here... it's brilliant.

Oh, so the offer's only for MacBooks?

Never mind, I will stop hijacking the thread.

Another tip - make sure you keep your Mac updated. You've probably booted it up for the first time by now so you should just check for any new updates as there have been a few recently. New updates might've come out while the Mac's been sitting on the shelf in the shop.

Yay! I remember that day so well. :D (it was a year ago :( )

But you'll love your mac a year from now just as much as you do now! Guaranteed! :apple:

    Download Perian.

I just got my first Mac too, an this one is the actual Macbook. I got Best Buy to price match Apple's student discount. Apparently their computers haven't updated the new price point, so I got the new one for $899! So far I like how when the desktop pops up while booting up, you are good to go; unlike Windows where you have wait for it too load. I also thought the 2 GB ram would be a problem, but so far, I am not having any multitasking problems.

Only advice I have is keep your beverages away from your machine lol. Been a rash of "OMG HELP ME I JUST SPILLED" threads lately.

Other than that, congrats, welcome to the family :)
