For some reason when I am sending a text message (or an iMessage), auto correct always insists that the word "so" is "do"...an issue I've never had with previous iPhones.

Also apperently turns into "papers flu"

Yeah I really don't get it. The keyboard was never this bad in iOS 4. Am I just fat fingering keys or did the keyboard get worse?

I love auto correct for dealing with my oversized fingers but some days it makes me want to throw my phone as far as I can!

It's apparently. Not apperently. So. No issues.

I've noticed the so -> do thing as well. Can't imagine why they'd do that.

LOL @ apperently. This is classic.

Aside from the obvious stupidity of this thread, so -> do is retarded. In iOS 4 "don't", (typed as "dont") got autocorrected to Sony a few times for me. Noticed a few others (can't remember them now) that did the same thing. And unlike the OP, I actually knew how the words were spelled.

So -> do doesn't happen all the time though, so I'm not sure what's triggering it but I hope it is fixed.

When I get Siri to type apparently and so I have seem to have no problem, such as in the Siri typed reply to this ha ha :)

While other posters are correct that "apperently" is wrong, shouldn't autocorrect be, well..correcting it?

"Its" always gets autocorrected to "it's" as if Apple is trying to promote the proliferation of incorrect apostrophes that you now see everywhere. "Friends" always becomes "friend's" which is also stupid.

Disabled autocorrect on my iPhone back in the spring of '03. Been happy ever since :).

There must have been a lot of drinking last night. Between this and the guy sucking toilet water out of his iPhone these are classic.

Correct me if I'm wrong, the iPhone didn't debut until '07.
Thats what I thought too. "The iPhone—retroactively labeled the original iPhone, iPhone 2G, or iPhone EDGE—was the first generation of iPhone designed and marketed by Apple Inc. and was succeeded by the iPhone 3G. It was announced on January 9, 2007" From wikipedia.
Unless he was referring IOS 3

You're saying it wrong...

:p

Sometimes autocorrect will start autocorrecting stupid things. When it gets to that point, just reset the keyboard dictionary and it'll usually be fine after that.

Apple's getting it's revenge on everyone based on the ones that call in and whine. So they've given us an input system so bizarre, even after one resets it, soon it begins acting up again.

What I can't figure out is several posts I see here each week contain a word mine never produces. In addition when I ask no one can tell me what it means. I'd think if it was a spelling mistake someone would correct it but they don't.

I'll ask again. The word is "prolly" I've seen it over and over.

Anyone know the definition ?

"prolly" is shorthand slang for "probably"
