So I just got off the phone with ATT about my online order.

I have no idea how accurate this is. The girl I talked to has been wonderfully helpful, she took down my phone number and has called me twice today to give me updates about my online order.

Don't kill the messenger here.

I ordered my phone on the 11th at about 1:30am. 3GS Black 32GB from the ATT website. I am an upgrade.

I sit at "in progress" on the website.

I called the Consumer Sales line at about 1:30pm today and talked to a girl there who said she'd do some research on my order and get back to me.

Yeah right, is what I was thinking.

She called about 20 minutes ago and told me she didn't have an update, and that she'd keep checking my order and alert me when it shipped.

I was suprised she called, and thanked her.

.....she just called me back a few minutes ago.

She said she talked to whatever department was in charge of filling orders for the phone and they are going to be shipped PRIORITY mail at 5am on Friday morning.....for a Saturday or Monday delivery.

I told her I'd heard many different things and some people already got tracking numbers from UPS.

She told me that UPS has an agreement with ATT and they are to hold the phones until Friday.

She said they could not break the street date of the phone, since they have an agreement with Apple.

Honestly, I don't really believe all of what she said, that'd make for some REALLY angry people and the emails we've received have already told us it could be as early as/on Friday.

I dunno. I think I'm just irritated that I didn't have the foresight to order from Apple (this is my first iphone, didn't know ATT handled it so poorly) and it seems like ATT dropped the ball on this.

I sure hope I get it Friday.
 
I hate apple's delivery (FedEx) since I ordered my new 13 macbook pro last week and it got stuck in Memphis, TN over the weekend:( so I only got it today. Love it by the way:D.

And im pondering over an Iphone 3G S because I have a touch and I love it so i want the phone but its over priced for something that gets updated every year:confused:
 
That makes a lot of sense.

Lessens the burden on UPS because they get more time to move the phones to the local hubs. Then they have them there and it works for apple because it pretty much guarantees friday delivery for all those pre-orders, probably at a decent rate for them as well.
 
Did AT&T ever guarantee a friday delivery like Apple did on pre-orders?

From everything I've seen AT&T has always says "as early as 6/19" which clearly can mean Saturday or Monday.

Apple was very explicit in their language, after the first few hours it went on sale, was always "delivers on 6/19"

There's ATT people with UPS tracking numbers that deliver on 6/19 also.

I dunno. ARGH!!!!:(

I was told by AT&T that my phone's would ship on the 18th and I will receive it on the 19th when I actually placed the order with her. I don't think anyone would consider that a guarantee. You seem to imply that you have a guarantee from Apple. Usally a guarantee should come with something. Like if you get it on Monday you can take it back? Or you get the phone for free? What does Apple's guarantee mean? Just giving you a hard time.
 
Ordered mine through :apple:. I think I'll set a tent up in front yard to wait on FedEx in case they come early! Of course my iPhone is still being used a foot stool in China. :mad:

Trying to wait patiently. . . .

Right -- because that's what "delivers as early as 6/19" can mean.

I really don't know why you are confused if AT&T has always said "as early as 6/19". Could very well mean 6/22.
 
That stinks, I ordered from apple on the first day and mine is in Alaska, according to UPS tracking, glad i picked apple over ATT
 
If people don't receive phones on Friday (from an AT&T preorder), they can blame the countless buyers that kept calling because of a lack of patience.

I would wager that just about everyone who ordered from AT&T properly, will receive their phone on Friday.
 
UPS or FedEx are not delivering phones on Saturday unless it was an option when you bought the phone and paid extra for it. If you don't get it Friday the next delivery time will be Monday.
 
you guys should have just planned to wait in line at att or apple if you guys wanted your iphones on launch day.
 
I wonder if I canceled my order from ATT right now, and then ordered from apple (I'm an upgrade) I'd be eligible for an upgrade at apple and could order for them.

Thoughts?
 
I still think you'll get your phone on Friday. That status page has always been problematic.

Also, I don't think you can cancel your pre-order until it arrives. So... you could show up at Apple or AT&T on Friday, grab an iphone, then cancel the pre-order when it arrives. But like I said above, I think your pre-order will ship fine. ~ Relax ~
 
This seems to be a common theme around here, but i'm guessing Empty Wallet is a teenager. Am I correct ?
 
Also, it seems others are confirming my talk with the lady from ATT, the phones will be shipped Friday.

HOWEVER, someone just posted on the big thread that ATT has updated twitter to reflect we'll get them on the 19th!?
 
Just checked UPS' website with my tracking number from AT&T. Preordered on the 9th @ 11am. Here's what I got 2 minutes ago....

Tracking Number: 1Z 1WF 748 ** **** *** *
Type: Package
Status: Billing Information Received
Shipped To: CHESAPEAKE, VA, US
Shipped/Billed On: 06/17/2009
Service: NEXT DAY AIR SAVER
Weight: 1.00 Lb

Shipped/Billed today, next day air....so I'm assuming that means that the phones will be at the local AT&T store or local UPS hub tomorrow or Thursday, which means they SHOULD be available Friday morning. Fingers crossed that I'll be holding my 32gig White 3GS then.
 
Can't be delievered on Saturday...neither UPS nor FedEx deliver on saturday.

I will say this, my e-mail from AT&T said it would be sent via priority overnight with delivery as early as Friday.

But I'm seriously not going to shed one tear if it doesn't show up until monday. It's not that big a deal.
