When Apple is doing the exchanges for you are you getting a new iphone 3G ? or are you getting a refurbished iphone 3G?

would ANYONE accept a refurbished iphone when they paid for a new one initially?

i made sure both times they were brand new and unopened, no way i would accept a second hand product as a replacement.

Ditto ^^^ Bring your box and the accessories and your receipt. The Genius will know to get you a brand new iPhone.

My "replacement" phone came to the store in a small white box. Not in the actual iPhone box with accessories. I brought all of my stuff both times (I lived 2 hours away and they had none in stock the first time, so they ordered it and came within 2 days). I'm assuming it was a new phone... or no?

I have seen some threads here that people have received some refurbished iphone 3G's already its really no different than the first generation where you took your iphone in to swap it out and they gave you a refurbished one, it probably depends on the Apple store if they still have new ones left to hand out i'm sure at some point it'll be you take a refurbished one or keep what you have.

i had the same light leaking problem, but it seems as though it has gone away with time..or i just dont notice it anymore, but i noticed the same thing when i first got it and just ignored it cause i was more worried about getting it activated, on july 11th which was also, a joke.:apple:

i had my phone i got from att my original phone keeped rebooting endlessy no matter what i did. I went to apple store in Woodfield IL about 2 hrs from where i live and they swaped it out with a phone in a white box. I asked if it was referb they told me" At this poin and early im not sure possibley not"....um ok took that phone home and this one is doing the same thing but not as much and has major battery life drain and light leakage. Example i charged it fully last night and now today at 2:43pm central (im at work and dont use it mind you) the dang things battery life is at like 30%. no push no 3g, no locations all are off. I went to apple again last night they had to "Order" a phone for me as they where out. This time I will not leave that darn store w/o doing what u guys suggested. Checking it and not accepting it if it does not meet my needs.

Because apple shouldn't suck so much, people shouldn't have to worry so much about getting a defective product if apple would get their **** together and stop selling their crappy, defective products

Posts like this crack me up. We as 3G iPhone owners are all early adopters. To be one of the first people to own such an amazing phone, we sacrifice quality and deal with new issues and problems in order to help Apple make a better product.

Return the phone and quit complaining.

i mean this happens with everything though TVs. 360s PS3, Cellphones

nothing will be perfect if it is fresh new item or technology added to exsiting item. Yeah it can be a pain in the A#* but hey you still have the same phone. WIth me I get P#@ OFF when it happens but that is why you have warranty. Kinda up set with the quality of the iphone cancelled tmobile after being with them for 7 yrs since voicestream and NEVER EVER had customer service isssue or reception issues with those guys here in chicago but oh well right.
