Was bored at work so I was playing with those animoji things. When I recorded and played back I noticed a clicking in the background. So I decided to test the mics. Took a quick video with voice using both the front and rear cameras. Audio is really low and did cut out in some parts. Did a video recording with the voice recorder and it was fine.

Anyone else have mic issues.

Do you still have the plastic on your phone or anything obstructing the mic? When I first got my XS Max, I left the plastic on until I was able to get a screen protector and noticed the clicking sounds when recording Animoji’s, but since that’s using the top mic to record, I assumed it was caused by the plastic which did go away once I got a screen protector.

Good call. As a matter of fact I do have the plastic still on. Read my stupid thread here. Lol

Haha! That’s pretty funny, forgetting to remove the plastic when installing the screen protector!! Gave me a good chuckle! Glad I could help, I was also slightly worried my mic had an issue when I first got my phone because my screen protector didn’t arrive till a week after..but after removing the plastic, no more clicky noises!
[doublepost=1540730591][/doublepost]Btw, if you still have that screen protector that you messed up on, you can still salvage it. I do this all the time when I install screen protectors and notice that dust got under. Just use some dish soap, rub with your fingers and rinse under the sink, the soap will clean off everything. Then just make sure not to touch the sticky side, rinse off the soap, shake off the water on the protector and reinstall immediately. It doesn’t matter if it’s wet or there’s still some soap left, it may leave streaks or bubbles initially but will dry and be perfectly clear in a few hours.
