some people asked how long i get out of this computer, here's the answer. and this is using the computer, i was typing in Discord and browsing the macrumors forum, like, this isn't idle at the desktop. at full screen brightness too with the keybaord lights on.

in case anyone is curious about the exact specs:

there is a hardware change, this Mac suffered from RadeonGate, so i hardware disabled the AMD GPU.

the system won't even see the GPU and it's not using power. that helps the battery last a bit longer, but i still think 3+ hours of active use out of this thing is really good at 900 cycles.

900+ cycles is an awesome testament to batteries from Apple, and this is taking it from a 2011 battery revision. This is why I tell people to just let OSX do it's thing with Optimized Battery Charging. Don't overthink it and don't download useless apps like AlDente.
