Cool story, bro.

This is the iPad forum on MacRumors, not the "Tablet Enthusiasts" forum on Yahoo.

Is anyone else here sick and tired of reading the never-ending stream of Android topics around here? Don't the Android fans have their own forum on some other website to post things like this?

The mods should take action, as posts like these should be considered OT from the get go.

By all means, enjoy your Nook, the new pair of pants you bought, or the ham sandwich you ate for lunch, but please don't post about it here in the iPad forum on MacRumors. Thanks.

Personally, I enjoy discussing the entire market and iPad competition.

I would suggest, if you don't like the threads, simply don't open them.

my friends also got nooks, rooted and running cyanogen's honeycomb. my phone is a droid incredible (rooted, gingerbread) so im fairly familiar with the android OS.

to my surprise, the nook with honeycomb is actually VERY impressive. angry birds is perfectly smooth, and everything works as expected.

That said, the hardware of the ipad definitely seems a few notches up, and the app selection for iOs absolutely blows android out of the water.

I use to be hardcore pc but since getting my macbook pro, ive decided that I too just want to buy something and know it will work... unlike with pcs and sub par performance based on what components you have.

I for one cannot wait to get my hands on the ipad2. Dont get me wrong, the nook, rooted, is awesome but the ipad wins hands down.

Nook with 3.0 was a dog -- overclocked Nook with 3.0 was less of a dog. Xoom with 3.0 zoom zoom.

This Friday ipad number two --- crossing fingers that checker board is long gone.

This was brought up awhile ago: the issue isn't rooted Nook against an iPad, the issue is a rooted Nook against a Galaxy. Seems to me that Samsung has a real issue with their pricing.

The issue IS "rooted Nook against an iPad".

I was in the market for an ipad2. I almost bought one. But both the ipad2 AND rooted Nook Color would satisfy my requirements. I also lean more heavily towards book reading as my primary task on such a device. So I purchased the Nook Color and saved $250.

So in some cases, and for some customers, the Nook Color WILL be a competitor to the iPad.
