I was referring to the possibility of keeping my 14 Pro Max, and getting an S23.

I don’t have an iPhone 14.

Thanks for your suggestion, though.
Sorry was being lazy and didn't want to go back and look up exactly which model you had. I knew it was one of the 14 Series. You'd mentioned you also have a 12 Pro Max (I think - sorry if I'm getting the exact model wrong) lying around, and didn't like the idea of having so many unused devices. My suggestion was to sell the most recent model, and keep the older one to manage your watch.

I traded in my 12 Pro Max.

Thanks for the help, and wishing you well.

If you completely get rid of your iPhone, then your watch becomes, well... a watch. It can still tell time. Also, some apps like the Calendar and the Compass should still work perfectly well.

If you keep your iPhone, you can still do things like keep track of workouts, sleep, etc. Other than that... well, the watch isn't ever going to become useless, but it'll be of limited help to you.

The straightforward answer is no. It is not possible to pair an Apple Watch with Android, irrespective of whether your phone is from Samsung, OnePlus, or Google, or what Android version it is running.
This. I can’t understand why anyone would even entertain having a different watch and phone architecture? It just seems unnecessarily cruel. Get a used Android watch (probably Sammy) and call it a day. I tried this for like….5 minutes. Then went with a Samsung Gear 2 (I think it was). Then when I switched back, I ended up happily going back to an Apple watch.
