Right. Not really concerned with the speed although it's odd that it's limited.

Got my iPad Pro 9.7 tonight, it's replacing my old hp laptop from late 2013. No interest in Smart Keyboard or pencil though.

Fully agreed. New iPad pro is perfect for me.

I am hoping, hoping, hoping iOS 10 addresses the OS and 1st party app shortcomings and really models what is possible with an iPad.

I have never been so excited for an iOS release now that the iPad is being positioned as a laptop replacement. If Apple is really committed to that message, and I believe they are, iOS 10 is going to be a big deal for Pro owners.

Very impressed. Usb 3,4gb,force touch, touchid 2 would have made it perfect but I doubt I will miss these at all. It is what it is. Big jump from my original air.

I actually prefer Touch ID 1 for the times when I really just want to see the lock screen.

I just got my iPP 12.9 today. Being a trucker I'm not home to start setting it up and playing with it. I plan on using it to replace my 2009 MBP as the only thing that I use that is remotely "PRO" is 4 templets from pages.
Regarding the smart keyboards, did someone here say that the Apple is better and nicer that the Logitech?
I have alway like the Logitech and they are less expensive than the Apple.

The Apple keyboard is much lighter. I think the Logitech one weighs almost as much as the iPad itself. Also, the Smart Keyboard just snaps on and off with the magnets, the Logitech is a case that's much harder to take on and off.

But the Logitech has backlights, more function keys, and probably better key feel.

I also hope more apps start to implement the multitasking tools. I like slide over for quick interactions while doing something else, but some, like google hangouts and Spotify don't work :(

Oh, and I wish picture in picture could expand to more media - I'd love to get a floating reference photo that I can flick around while working in procreate, and I know it's kinda already in control centre, but a floating interface for audio apps could be nice for album art / up next displays.

Now that I've had time to play with the new iPad Pro, I completely agree. It is a very impressive device.
Snappy, bright, True Tone is very nice, the camera is incredible for a tablet and the Pencil is the best stylus I've ever used.

I wasn't going to get the Pencil but the store didn't have any cases that fit the Pro. I really don't appreciate that the Smart Case doesn't have a screen cover like it used to. I think I'll go for something more protective and probably cheaper.

One of my biggest iOS 10 wishes: Let me choose what apps appear in slide over, and for the ones I choose to be there, let me set a static order.

I've recently sold my Mid 2015 MacBook Pro 15-inch as my iPad Pro has become my main computer and I love the simplicity aspect of it! I had an iPad Air 2, the bigger screen is just amazing and I've found the 12.9 inch can easily replace a lot of "PCs"

I'm a bit annoyed that Apple has introduced some new features on the 9.7" iPad Pro, such as Ture Tone display and 5-megapixel.

The glowing reports suggest that this iPad may bolster the sales volume, but it may not amount to much. Best of all, it just doesn't matter. Apple’s Fat and Happy with all the money they generate anyway.

No, bec its not for eveyone wishes and apple know this. But i agree this has to have a least a search button in the slide over apps

3 weeks have passed since purchase (iPad pro 9.7) and my 2010 MBP hasn't seen the daylight...But again, I only consume content on this machine (all work done on Lenovo laptop provided by employer). It will be interesting to see how I am going to manage my photo library and music going forward as they are still on the MBP...

So all of you guys you buy movies,tv shows and music on your iPads.....no need for a real pc :)

The only thing I'm paranoid about is the studios have pulled their content before, even if it was temporary. Having a computer that everything is download to does give on peace of mind.
I never buy digital content. I buy content on physical media and shift it to digital. I buy CDs and shift them to mp3's, I buy DVDs (actually BluRay/DVD combos on sale) and shift them to .mp4. By using metadata tag tools for these mp3 and mp4 files, they appear/cataloged in my iTunes and Plex libraries in the same polished way that store-bought digital media appears.

I know that makes me a technological neanderthal but I don't care. :p

I used to do the same but finally gave up. It was taking up too much of my time ripping and converting. I pretty much stopped buy things I liked and only buy things I love. I just make sure the BluRay is in the format I want. Everything else, I pay the streaming services.

Curse you Spiderman0616 I was gonna create this exact same thread. Anyways I have been floored by my 9.7 Pro perfect size and insanely fast can only imagine what exclusive goodies to the Pro line iOS will have.

Heck I'd be more upset if I had purchased a iPad Air 2 and 15 months later Apple drops the Pro with easily 4x the computing power and much improved display and speakers it's a giant leap everyone who bought an Air 2 recently is scratching their eyes out right now.

My 9.7 Pro has done 1 amazing thing (cleaned up my desk) I use to have an old 17 inch DELL laptop Core 2 Duo 2.5Ghz and 4GB DDR3 RAM and 256GB SSD. All I can say is the 9.7 Pro is easily 2x faster or more than my old laptop. 4K video zooms and more.

No games take full advantage of its GPU yet it's Xbox 360 class but I can't wait. Games that stutter on the iPad Air 1 or 2 just fly now.

Lol, nope, not scratching my eyes out right now. I like the pro for pencil support but that is it. iPad is a consumption device for me because I need a desktop operating system. My iPad Air 2 is still really powerful in the consumption department and I couldn't be happier.
