My understanding is that all phones have the issue, but not everyone experiences it because specific location is one factor.

Tried it with and without a case and it stayed the same makes me think an update might fix it.

The only problem I'm facing is apps not working when needing a 3G signal. And my phone not looking for a wifi signal on its own even though its set that way. I still show full bars all the time though.

I have an iPhone 3GS, with iOS 4, in a Case Mate barely there case.

I just reproduced the problem easy.

I unlocked my phone and the bars were full.

Then the bars just started dropping.

My phone has actually always done this pretty much, even before the iOS4 update. However, it has never dropped to the point of saying No Service.

I don't.

I read a great post today. It went sometihng along the lines of, "Only the people who complain have issues (regarding iPhone 4)." It's true.

Nope I don't have it, doesn't matter how many people try to make it happen on my phone, the bars just don't drop

I'm not and I keep trying to produce it but I can't.

I have it everywhere I go. 5 bars to zero if I hold it long enough. Consider yourself lucky.

Can anyone explain Apple's reasoning behind the bumper? The problem according to them is that our hands/fingers are attenuating the signal. So their solution is to add a layer of plastic/rubber to the mix.....in addition to our hands/fingers.

Is that new math or something?

I have tried with and without the case and can't replicate it. I've held it in both hands, with every possible grip I can think of. I'll probably end up making a video tomorrow, since my phone seems to be free of this defect.

it is by far the most INFURIATING problem ever. I was on the phone 10 minutes ago receiving some terrible news and i was holding the bottom left seam and the phone cut out. I literally heard terrible news, i had tons of infor to get and questions to ask and i lost the call. What a ****ing joke, I'm getting a ultra wrapsol, so hopefully this fixed it but if not im gonna chuck it at a "genius"

edit: not all people who have issues complain, for instance, this is the first time im posting about my antenna, but im gonna try to get a replacement before they close the flood gates on this kinda thing.
