We had some rumours before that the bezels were going to be thinner, but then looking at the latest leaks, I see that the notch is going to be smaller, that’s for sure, but what do you guys think about the bezels ?

I can't find a link right now but there were some schematics leaked that show a thinner bezel. Not much though since the bezels were already pretty small.

We're getting to the point now where it'll be very difficult to install a screen protector without getting the rainbow effect on the edges. Perhaps moving away from curved edges will make it easier though.

The bezels are likely to be thinner I'd think! They're pretty small already anyways, it's just the curved edge that's bezel. More likely if the box shape rumor is true.

If it's got a smaller battery than the 11 Pro Max, it'll be a bad move. Especially when 5G is involved.

So if they go thinner at the batteries expense, it'll be a major setback. Just my opinion. I got the Pro Max simply because it's got the best battery.

As long as you can get a day out of the battery with decent use, I don’t think it’ll be an issue for most people. I think a lot of people charge overnight as a force of habit. I certainly would go to the extreme of paying £400-500 more just to get a Pro device with a slightly better battery. Looking at the leaks, the iPhone 12 5.4” and 6.1” look like decent offerings this year and perhaps the best for years.

The 12 pro will have thinner bezels but the 12 will just have the same bezels the 11 Pro due to OLED.

Basically it'll be the new "design feature" of the 12 along with OLED from 2017.

the 12 pro is the most exciting but I understand the 5.4" will be very popular due to price more than size, $650 for an OLED iPhone with face ID is massive compared to the awful dated SE design.

I think most of us will be happy with that seeing as the bezels are almost nonexistent on the 11 Pro anyway. Never really been anti bezel and still love the classic iPhone design of my 8+. The 5.4” is going to be incredibly popular I agree and I think out of the 4 releases, that will be in the mist demand purely for size first and foremost and obviously cost as it’s rumoured to be very competitive. I’m personally only interested in the 6.1” non-Pro model and think that’ll also be largely in demand.

I owned an Android with 5G, I hope iPhones don't suffer the same terrible battery drain. If they do, even the current battery specs will seem a bit underwhelming to heavy users.

Consumers don’t care about the whole ‘dated SE design‘ argument, they care about the price point. Look how many iPhones 6S/7‘s are still being used on the market, are these same consumers clamoring over the new iPhone design because it has OLED? No. What consumers will see is the price point, and what they can afford, and touch ID is still extremely popular for its use cases.

there’s a separation of consumers who want the latest technology and those who don’t care about the latest technology, for those who don’t care about the technology, clearly care about the price point, which is why the SE2 will be vastly popular long-term over little things like OLED, which is not a selling point to any average consumer for the majority of markets.

I think that the market is more complex than that. In my case, I just want a worthful upgrade. I do care about latest technology but not at any price and at the same time I don't want to upgrade just because the price point is low. I really evaluate the features or technology that I get compared to the price.

I'm in that boat, but having still an old device does not mean that you are looking for a cheap replacement or you care just about price point. I've bought my phone unlocked when it was launched. I did not update yet because I did not find any worthful upgrade.
