So is the iPad baseband exactly like the 3G's

From my understanding the iPad was only a data device and it's baseband was unable to handle calls, texts, ect.

so how can it's baseband be flashed to the iPhone 3G/S and function properly?

Umm...obviously because your understanding was wrong. This happens all the time in tech; why would they waste time and resources writing a completely new firmware for the iPad when it uses the same chip?

Don't know exactly how it works or why but it does 😀

I think people used their iPhone SIMs in their iPad and just changed APN settings and worked or vice versa.
