Apple ship most products charged and off. Maybe the switch got bumped during shipping.

If you don't have the apple rechargeable battery, get them. They are pretty awesome.

Don't waste your money - they are just rebranded Sanyo Eneloops... you can get double the batteries (maybe even triple if you wait for the right deal) + a charger for the same amount.

I already had 6 Kodak and 4 Duracell NiMH batteries. I'm good to go 🙂
