did anyone hear of any mention of being able to use the apple pencil on this big trackpad? also does anyone know if iMovie works on that touch bar?

No and they would for sure have mention it if it was.
shame though, specially consider the size of that thing

The size of the trackpad is massive! There has to be a reason for that. Maybe there are some new gestures that take advantage of the larger size. Last I checked, no one was complaining about the size of the previous generations trackpad, so there must be a reason for enlarging it.

From the tech specs;

  • Force Touch trackpad for precise cursor control and pressure-sensing capabilities; enables Force clicks, accelerators, pressure-sensitive drawing and Multi-Touch gestures
Was pressure-sensitive drawing in the last one? If it has it, I can see a reason for a larger trackpad. But using my finger to 'draw'? o_O

Pressure sensitive drawing is mentioned in the tech specs for the regular 12inch MacBook too. So I wouldn't have any hopes up that there's  Pencil support on these new models :/

I wish that was a feature too though!

so any kind of drawing device would work technically? just not apple pencil

Maybe Apple Pencil 2?
Which may announce along new version of iPads next year?
