Since the news about the flickering and yellow screens is everywhere now, what's everyone doing with their iMacs? I mean mine started to flicker like crazy last night, but if i were to return it today chances are i'd get one with the same problem.

Doesn't waiting a few weeks make more sense? What does everyone think.

Flickering doesn't seem as common. Not nearly as common as the yellow tinge.

I am returning my yellow iMac. This will be my second return (the first had flickering).

The flickering is unbearable and renders the computer unusable. The tinge is really subtle and I debated whether it was even worth sending in.

In the final analysis, I want a perfect computer, so back it goes. At least Apple is sending me a new one in advance and letting me delay returning my current iMac until after the new one arrives, so I don't have to deal with being without for 2 weeks. Plus, I'll be able to plug the new one in and make sure the damn thing is perfect before sending my old one back.

^ I agree, the flickering is horrible. If i have the yellow tint, i don't see it...yet.

I'm waiting until January before seeking a replacement. Hopefully things will be better by then. No point in rushing to exchange when we all have until Jan 7th to return / exchange anyways.

I got a 21.5 from amazon on black friday, but didn't take delivery until a week ago monday. I'm having them send me my 2nd one due to the yellow tinge. No problems. My 30 days with amazon is up around x-mas time, I don't want to wait. If number 2 comes back yellow, I might just get a refund. The issue for me is that I got 150 bucks off on black friday. I hate to ahve to pay that in a few months when the bugs get worked out, but I too want a perfect computer. It's a lot of money.

I returned two and now waiting at least a few months until I hear that the screens aren't yellow anymore and the flickering issue is resolved. At this point I'm pretty much convinced that the things were rushed through the design/production phase either for Christmas or Windows 7.

I also have the yellow tinge and I decided to wait until January before I contact Apple. For the rest, my iMac is perfect so I still have doubts if I should exchange it at all.

My i7 replacement (week 49 build) has been flawless for almost 2 weeks now when I got it, I love it. The first one was flickering.

its not as widespread as you'd think. It seems that way but its really not. my mate purchased 4 of them and they are all in perfect working order.

I've returned mine for a full refund. I was issued two replacement machines (in addition to the first one purchased) that all exhibited varying levels of the dreaded yellow tinge. The configuration was 27" i5 with the 1 TB drive. I'm tired of playing the "return and hope for the best" lottery, will re-evaluate my options when Apple releases the next iMac refresh.

I had one with a noisy drive, light yellow tinge and 8 stuck iSight pixels. Was wondering for two days about what I should do but also decided to take the refund.

I'm going to wait until Apple comes up with an official statement saying that they are aware of the problems and are working on them. Because to be honest, reading all those forums, I really don't have the idea they are..still plenty of yellow tinge everywhere.

    Yellow Tinge - CHECK

    Flickering Screen - CHECK

    Dead/Stuck Pixels - CHECK

...and so on. Really unbelievable.

If you have these issues, RETURN IT FOR A REFUND and wait until Apple fixes these issues. Apple is currently passing off bad machines to the unsuspecting. Don't settle for less than a properly working machine.

The current batch of iMacs seem to have a LOT of defects.

If you have the patience, keep sending them back, but it seems that the replacements are still plagued with identical issues.

Well, I had one machine that flickered, so I returned it. Simple as that, cuz I'm wasn't going to play the exchange game. Either get it right the first time, or don't sell it to me at all.

After that, I was waiting for the problems to clear up, but because of all the USB 3.0 hardware and new ATI mobile video chips at CES, I have decided to wait for a year or two before trying the iMac lotto again. In the mean time...

i'm sorry you guys are all having these problems... i need help deciding what i should do.

so as of now i'm not sure whether or not if ill get a full refund or pay a restocking fee at my local apple store...
    my problem are:
dead pixels on the isight (about 5-7)
when it is tilted back all the way you can actually hear this clicking noise. i called apple care they said hardware problems.

i purchase it on dec. 26 in delware but i live in maryland because i was in town and why not take advantage of tax free items? lol

I'm enjoying using mine! It is by far the nicest computer I have owned and/or used once they replaced the screen & cable that fixed the flickering/blackouts. ;)
