    guess

The only reason I like the idea of 16g is for ease of multitasking day to day. IE- if i ever decide to chain cinemas, i would be able to watch a movie, surf and maybe play a game simeltaniously

I was told at the Apple Store today that they, in fact, have received an "ultimate" configuration for retail sale... an sold it. Ultimate being the 2.7GHz, 16GB, 768GB SSD.

I bought a base Retina today and that's all they had in stock. She said they don't receive many of the higher end configs. FWIW

MacMall told me they wouldn't get any 16GB models in until 30 July! :-(
