I downloaded an App but didn't like it. Popped it in the Recycle bin and deleted it.

My lovely MBA was sooooo slow that I rebooted it. It is still slow with everything.

Is there and easy way to go back a few hours? What have I done wrong?

New to Mac and boy does it show. :)

I went to the Apple Store the other day and thought the macbook air was slower than my 3 and a half year old 12 inch powerbook.

There is no way to go back a few hours. What was the app? What are you doing that's seems slow? My mom has a 12" powerbook and it can't even run Leopard smoothly. I put Tiger on it and it runs well now.

What was the app?

Are there messages in the console?

Did the app place anything in the Library?

If you want tech support, give us the details!

If you still have the app in the recycle bin, download AppZapper, then drag the app icon into AppZapper and zap it, that way it gets rid of everything associated with it.

Also, you may want to check your Activity Monitor, under CPU, and all processes to see if you have something weird taking up alot of CPU.
:apple:

I would say just to reinstall the app, then use AppZapper or AppCleaner or something similar to remove it, which will remove the .app file along with (hopefully) all the other junk files it may have put in ~/Library/ etc.

Some macbook airs may have gotten screwed up in the store somehow. I was really nervous about getting one (still thinking about it) when the one at futureshop was sluggish as heck. it took a real long time to load apps and everything was choppy. but I went to best buy a checked out the air there and it was super responsive (i even saw a teen my age buy one even though the best buy guy tried to convince him out of it -- that jerk lol).
