I read a few things about 11.3 really speeding up the Apple Watch on previous models but I didn't think anything of it.

Every app is opening significantly faster, most are instant at this point. Series 4 would have to blow me away to even think about upgrading now

I agree just switching watch faces is faster. No lag when I touch the screen now.

I agree. I have a S3 and a S2...Siri on the S2 is now as quick as the S3 and all the apps open really quick.

Fixed my battery issues too on the S2.

It works! Hurray! It feels at least twice as fast. Third party complications load properly in the background now, too.

So I wasn’t imagining things. Seems faster indeed, but perhaps I need more time to say for sure. It wasn’t terrible earlier, but some occasional lag was present here and there.

No idea about battery life yet, but it has always been really good on my Series 2, way exceeding my exceptations. I think I got three full days with some earlier version of Watch OS, now it’s been two days more or less comfortably.

Anyway, seems like a nice update. Let’s hope watchOS 5 continues the same trend.

My OG Watch still feels like the same juddery mess it's been since watchOS 4 first launched. Also still seems to draw way more power than wOS 3 did. I cannot go 2+ days without charging anymore, like I could with wOS 3 and prior.

Even Series 3 is faster. The workout app would often be laggy switching between workout types for the first 10 or so seconds after launching the app. Smooth as butter now. Swiping between watch faces eliminated all lag too.

Agree. My S2 feels like a brand new watch now! I’ve really been bummed out that this second gen watch felt slow even before the S3 came out.
