What exactly are you doing that would require you to need 8GB at this very moment? Or in the future?

Right now I can see how 8gb of ram will be helpful for me but the cost of 8gb of ram is what concerns me an doesn't make it worth it.

I have 12gigs of ram on my macpro and it's crucial that I have this much ram for the work that I do(video editing)

I will have photoshop, final cut, color, afterEffects, Protools open at the same time and believe me, the ram does help.

My argument is that by the time the prices for 8gigs of ram for my laptop becomes "affordable" I'll probably be upgrading my laptop by then anyways.

Agreed. The time and price of 8GB right now is not worth it unless you REALLY need it.

I honestly don't see a problem with "only" having 6gb of ram! my desk top has been going stong for 5 years now it 512mb!!!!! what do you do that you neeeeeeed these extra 2gb of ram anyways?

Apple sux. Why do they ruin things by continually improving their products?! Once I buy something, they should never improve them again, because if they do then I'm shafted.

I can live with the idea that the product I bought included some nice improvements over the model that others bought just before me, but I can't stand the idea that anyone buying after me might actually get something that I don't have. That is really unfair!!
