Battery life alone should cover at least $100 of the $399 iPad Mini vs. $229 Nexus 7 debate. I've been able to squeeze just 8 hours max out of my Nexus 7 and that was just doing light browsing and some Plants vs. Zombies 2. If I did that on an iPad it would probably last 16 hours.

Ive been using my iPad off and on all day since 5am.

I like how Apple likes to be conservative in their battery life ratings. I like this pleasant surprise.

Same with my other Air; claimed 9 hours battery, I can get about 12-13 on a charge!

I'm only my second charge since purchase, and that's from the out of the box with only 83% on it.

So this cycle has been better than my first charge, 13 hours usage, 3 days standby, 25% to go. I do run my screen quite low most of the time, especially now the nights are closing in. God I hate going to work in the dark, and coming home in the dark, but it helps my battery life lololol.

Yeah battery life seems good, but is it me or does it take a really long tine to charge it?

Still on my 2nd charge since launch day and brightness is set at about 35%. Continues to impress...

Yeah -what about "good battery lots" ?

So far my battery life is right at 10 hours-nothing special at all. This is with auto brightness on and just normal surfing, email, etc. Curious to know if my battery is up to par...what is this reference to these "good battery lots"?

When posting your usage time, can you please list what brightness your screen is set to? Curious how much difference that makes. Thanks!

I'm on my second air and I get 10 hours too, nothing more. Not really happy since everyone else seems to be reporting 12 hours+.

I have my brightness at about 50% too. Think I might return it tomorrow.

My guess is most folks getting long battery life have the brightness set pretty low. I get 12-15 hours on the Air but that's because it's mostly at 0-30% brightness (Auto-Brightness off).

32 LTE with smart cover; auto-brightness on, BT and Cellular off.

The battery had 10% remaining:
15hrs and 18mins of usage (50% games and 50% mixed use)
3 days Standby

This time around, I am even more impressed by the battery life!

Still 25% to go and these are the stats at this time:

Usage - 10 hours, 48 minutes
Standby - 3 days, 19 hours

Brightness on Auto, but the slider is at about 40% most of the time.

11h-27m - usage

3 days 12h - standby with 17% left auto brightness on by mistake. Only charged once since out of box of 89%
