Depends on what you want. But i wouldn't count on you being able to save any more than $20 per month.

I currently pay $60.48

Unlimited Text
300 Anytime minutes
5 MyFaves (List of 5 numbers to call that I have unlimited access to)
Unlimited Weekend
Unlimited Nights
No Data

If I added data (which I might in the future) it'll be a $19.99 extra. You can get by on the $5.99 Tzones plan, but it was made to serve WAP pages so you'll have to hack a number of apps to work over port 80 that Tzones proxies you through.

I don't remember the exact details of my account, but it comes out to $80/month.

On another note, I am always on the road traveling across the US in a truck. I have found that I actually have BETTER coverage with T-mobile than I did with AT&T. An example, I didn't have ANY coverage in Montana and North Dakota with AT&T, I do with T-Mobile. Something to think about if you travel a lot.

Yeah
$4.99 = 400 SMS and MMS
$9.99 = 1000 SMS and MMS
$14.99 = Unlimited

I want to point out that you get equal SMS and MMS (400 SMS and 400 MMS so even though you ran out of SMS one month you can generally still send a picture to someone)

Not much an issue for iPhone users, but you never know with FW 2.0 might introduce MMS.

Add ons...

$9.99 1000 SMS/MMS messages
$5.99 T-zones data plan

Ends up being a little over $60 after taxes and everything.

I've got one of the old "Talk & Text" plans (grandfathered, so no dice for new plans) that includes 300 anytime, unlimited weekends, 500 text messages, and the equivalent of the $5.99 TZones (but I don't use that).

Add to that the T-Mobile Internet for $20/month (need the full thing for work) and tax and stuff, and my monthly bill is $54.

Been with T-Mobile for 5 or 6 years now and am very happy with their CS etc... so the iPhone is an extra bonus. Now if they'd only get edge in my area...

I'm astonished too - i'm in central Iowa (Ames). Edge on T-Mobile is all over Des Moines and nearly everywhere else I go in the US, but not in my neighborhood.
