So, what can't we do with the iPad?

At first, I thought the iPad would have fairly limited use. I didn't think I'd be able to use it at all professionally but now that seems to have changed.

I can show PPT presentations through Logme in or Desktop connect.
I can work with and edit docs with Pages (hopefully with Office soon)
I can work with my files and docs through Sugarsync (GoogleDocs soon too).
I can print to any printer in the world with Google's Cloud Print.

Did I miss anything? Is there anything we still can't do?

This could actually replace my laptop for most situations. :D

Well, we're supposed to be able to do that!

I don't have my iPad yet but I'm creating a big list of apps I "must have".

Ok, ok, it can't do everything! But it can do more than I thought it would and I'm mostly interested in business type apps anyway.

The no flash thing is re-goddamn-diculous.

    Can't filter trolls.

But then again, neither can Macrumors.

I'm not mad. I just like typing re-goddamn-diculous.

No flash is a bummer but doesn't affect how I will conduct business.

Maybe YOU can't but I have connected to lilkely 20 different WiFi points and never had the first problem. My iPad gets better WiFi reception than my MBPro!

but you can't retain a bunch of formatting, fonts, etc. So it's a bit crippled

Umm really? How? As of now GCP is vaporware, no? At least the searches on google I've seen indicate this is "coming soon"

"Note: Google Cloud Print is not yet available. At this stage, we have published design docs and are checking in related code to Chromium and Chromium OS. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months."

Good points but I can certainly see that we'll have these capabilities in the very near future.

There are others like ActivePrint (although the reviews are poor).

If by soon, you mean "in the coming months" - MONTHS... then yes.

You said "so what can't we do with the iPad" - I would take that as a NOW issue. Who KNOWS what we'll be able to do in MONTHS.

That aside - there are a few apps that can print to a network printer so all is not lost.

    Found this on AppCraver:

Can I print from the iPad?
Yes and no. The iPad does not have any ability to print built into the device, however there are some apps that bring this functionality. Some of the most popular include Air Sharing HD, PrintCentral for iPad, Print n Share for advanced printing, and PrinterShare (a freebie!). This is not a full list, and expect more apps in the future as this is likely to be a popular request.
