Yeah. Where do you guys go? Do you have to pay for your own ticket? If so, try talking the instructor into going to Boringhill...uh, I mean Boreal.

We go to Northstar. We do have to pay for our tickets but the school gets us a good group price so it is only $49 including rentals and a lesson.

Just made reservations for Breckenridge, Colorado over Spring Break April 9th - 14th. We got a condo on 4 O'clock run so we'll be able to ski/snowboard right up to the front door. Hoping that 40" base hangs around  Need. More. Snow.

[EDIT] Looks like it snowed some today - that's a good thing :D

Never skiied Brekenridge but I learned at Wolf Creek when I was three how is it? I'm looking for a spring break hangout I got some free round ticket flights when I got bumbed from my flight back from Colorado over xmas break :D .

I still havent tried boarding i've been meaning to but since i have all my own ski gear it pains me to waste money on rentals

Perfect season to buy winter sports stuff. Crappy winter, stores are trying to move product with sales. Boarding is much nicer to the knees. I read this article on, I think it was About.com and it made a lot of sense.

and for the record. I hate snow boarders too. all they do is sit on their @$$es. haahah.

I sit on my ass all the time, it's damned tiring. I don't care what other's think, but I make sure I'm sitting off to the side, not in the middle of the path. I'm still a novice and get tired quickly especially in the winter season I don't get as much exercise and only get to go every so often.

Also I'm sort of a really good skiier already and starting from square one would pain me aswell.

My wife and I are going on vacation next week to Seattle. While we're there we're going to Crystal Mountain with her Uncle and Aunt. I don't ski often but we both love it. So much so we're moving to Colorado Springs in May (we're just plain tired of the East Coast and it's traffic). I hope to ski quite often once we're living so close to the resorts.

I haven't been there in the Spring before but being a numbers man I decided to do some research before I booked. On average Breck is due for another 68" of snow by the end of April. Fingers crossed. Anyways, my boys and I were there a year ago the week before Christmas and it was a blast. Cold though

Very true I find alot of western snowboarders are perfectly accomplished it's these eastern brats who dont know WHAT they are doing and then they tell you what awsome boarders they are and about at the big air they get...
I think both coasts have more than enough dangerous riders to go around. Recently I got run into by a very apologetic asian chic who was sliding down the mountain on her back edge. I ate it and whacked my head hard (but I wear a helmet now so no concussion), but I was fine. Last year, on the same mountain, I had two skiers blow by me so close and so fast that I had to sit down quick to keep from getting into a nasty accident.

So do you have this alpine set up i've been seeing more of lately? Hard boots and such, actually looks way more like a ski settup?
I was at Sun Valley last month and I saw a pair of guys w/an alpine set up. First time I've seen that in person.

Snoboarded there last year. $75 a ticket!!! That, and it was crowded as hell. It was 4 days after Christmas... what do I expect? I mean, really?

That one was pretty good. A bit of a drive from SeaTac though. Check out Snoquame (I don't remember how to spell it), just go East up I-90. The terrain is as good, cheaper, and closer.

I just realized I haven't skiied in almost four years (since getting ACL replacement surgery), and I don't see it happening this winter either. Oh, well.

I have a house at Mount Snow in Vermont...go up every weekend, have been since I was two. Slow winter this year and last but they finally have gotten the cold weather to make some decent snow (I'll take any snow at this point). Actually looking forward to one of the best weekends for a while this up coming weekend. Should be decent.

Neat. My friend has a house up their too. Its a nice mountain.

Its interesting though what has happened to haystack mountain...

Yeah Haystack has been going back and forth over the past few years between private, public and whatever. It was always nice to take a day there every now and then because there was never a crowd...but oh well, it probably would be horrible this year (and last) because the lack of snow. It was actually used by the Mount Snow Freestyle ski team (back when I was on the team like 6 or so years ago) as a private jump site where we had a run and a lift entirely to ourselves.
