My last iPhone I brought from Apple.com/uk. When it arrived I unlocked it etc and popped in my o2 PAYG sim and away I went..

So whats stopping me from ordering a new 3G iphone from apple.com/uk and doing the same when the nice iphone-dev-team are able to unlock the 2.0 firmware

Will I be able to use 3G network?? no biggies if I cannot. o2 are mean to be doing a original iphone bolt of for £10 which give unlimited Web and Wi-Fi iPhone Bolt On..

Nothing except you can't buy them online from Apple, and when you buy an iPhone in store you have to sign up to the contract before you get your hands on it. So, you could unlock it but you'd still have to pay your contract every month...

While its not set in concrete it does not look like it will be "coming soon"

I have been reading that 02 are doing a unlimited web and wifi bolt on for £10 for PAYG customer that have got a 1st gen iphone
