Just giving you a hard time. I get 4 weeks of PTO....I can afford a play day. 😀

I usually work from home on Fridays, and will be this Friday. I ordered a 3G iPad on the 19th and am not expecting it to show up on Friday. If it does happen to show up I'll be miffed since it's going to be shipped to my work address!

I also made a feeble attempt to get to the Genius bar this Friday. Yesterday I went online to check the available time slots for Friday -- absolutely no slots open from 2pm thru almost 8pm. Expected that. I scheduled one for around 8pm with hopes of fulfilling a Genius bar work order: the exchange of my flaky-as-hell Wifi iPad for a 3G (with or without restocking fee, I don't care at this point)!

Not everywhere, it depends on your local carrier.

Nonetheless, I had it shipped to work and I'm bringing my library into work to sync here because I'll be traveling this weekend and I want to load my movies/music onto it for the trip (not going home before taking off!)
 
I've been on travel for work the last week and a half I'm taking thurs-fri off. Just good timing on my part.🙂
 
I took a vacation day for it.

Reason #1: I get 26 a year
Reason #2: I'm in Brooklyn and the FedEx and UPS pick up locations nearest to me are in a super-rough neighborhood that I don't feel like walking around in at 9:00PM with a $750 piece of electronics on me.
 
I should have taken the day off I have the vacation time. I am having it delivered to work, I just need to hope the shipping department emails me that it came in before they close at 4:30pm on Friday, otherwise I will not get it until Monday.

I'm going to keep checking FedEx's tracking page and the moment I see "Delivered" I'll be knocking down the door at the shipping docks. I got my iPhone this way and it better work for the iPad as well!

I am taking it off; gonna enjoy having my iPad hand-delivered to my door. I need to do some yard work anyway so may as well try and get it done before I get my iPad and forget all chores.
 
I'm a detective and I have the luxury to schedule a surveillance within a mile of my home. The FedEx knows me well enough to give me a 5 min. Warning call. I will sync all pre-downloaded apps and be running by noonish (give or take an ish).

I laughed when I read this. I have almost the same plan. I'm still on the fence about upgrading to 32GB, so I was just going to wander over to the store, check things out, and ask about the possibility of upgrading down the road a week or two.
 
I put in to take the day off. Honestly, I could use the downtime and the long weekend anyhow.

I plan to get up early and be at Best Buy before they open. When they open, I'll go in, find out what their plan is for selling them. If they don't know, I'll leave, go bum around for 1-2 hours, come back, see if they've figured it out yet.

Worst case, I go back around 2-3pm and just sit and hang out playing with the iPads on display, surf the web on the iMac, or play some Rock Band for a while. Or sit out in my car and surf the web on the Macbook, or read my iPhone programming book.

Dunno yet what I'm going to do about accessories. Seems like NOBODY has the Apple case, and I'm not sold on what BBuy has in stock (Belkin Grip). I'll probably spend most of the weekend running between apple stores here in Atlanta looking for something useable.
 
i'll drive home from work at ~5pm on friday and go past a apple mini store anyway.

I'll go in and see if they have an iPad 3G 64MB available. If not then I go on with my life because it's just a dang computer.

I won't buy any accessories beyond a neoprene sleeve. If I feel crazy I'll buy a pink one........
 
Had this day planned off for months, although if it would have meant getting the iPad sooner, I would have taken a day off weeks ago!

Man with 64MB I can store almost a whole MP3 album.
 
My valet service automates calls when packages arrive, and holds them for us.

I will likely be at work earning the money to pay for it, but then I'll have something to look forward to after work.
 
Retired . . . Nothing to do and all day to do it

If I were working and had ordered the 3G, I'd definitely take an iPad Day off to wait on the delivery!

I have the WiFi model as I'm usually close to WiFi or another hot spot.

Stay home . . . . hope you get paid though 😉

but it costs only $8.99...

well, it seems I'm one of the old people who grew up in times when storage was counted in kilobyte and megabytes. that's why i have such a hard time with gigabytes. when the get into the terabytes i should stop using computers.....
