Let's follow the countdown to the pre-ordering gates being flung open, and swap buying plans and ordering strategies.

I plan on preordering a couple of these. Probably the 32 gig, but need to wait for 3G version. I don't know if I'll buy the AT&T package, but I'm willing to pay $130 for the option.

I am trying to think a situation I would use it. But I know if I got the WiFi only I am going to have the time I could really use 3G and I am going to hate myself.

Is the extra $130 worth the 3G option? I am trying to figure that out.

I think it is. Imagine once they jailbreak this!! Besides the resale value on fleabay would help you once you upgrade next year. :D As for me I am as soon as Amazon has the 64GB + 3G available.

If I had to buy a contract, I wouldn't do it, but at $15, maybe $30 per month, seems like smart choice. Most places, I have good wifi, but for traveling it would be a good option to have.

Does anyone think the 3G looks funny from the front? I am talking about the black border on the top of the case. On the wifi only it looks more complete since the border isn't two colors.

Its purely a personal preference, but for me, I see the need to have connectivity regardless of there's wifi hotspots around.

I'm going to wait for it to be sold on Amazon.com so I can save a percentage of the actual cost and also pay no taxes. I just bought an iPod Touch 3G 64 GB on Amazon for a flat $357. Anyone have any idea how long it normally takes for these things to make their way over to Amazon?

Probably a week after it's officially released.

Probably as soon as its been JB'd
I always carry a cell phone that will be the internet source for "da pad"

at first i thought the 32gb wifi was the way to go, but after learning/thinking
how apple makes the most profit from the 32gb
and how $100 only gets you an extra 16gb,
but $200 yields and extra 48gb now i'm leaning more towards the 16gb or the 64gb..

Most likely the 16gb and a card/usb reader and the apple case looks useful

I'm hoping with a JB storage will not be an issue - usb to bus powered 2.5" portable drive
would make way more sense - to the user - not the stock holders!

HA!
