I'm thinking my fave reading chair, bunch of pillows and blankets, computer in my lap. A home made 5-story club sandwich with mayo AND guacamole, big ol' tumbler and a single malt from the cupboard. Prolly the 12 yr Bowmore. Big pot of coffee & still warm chocolate chip cookies.

Gonna call in sick and make friends & family think I went to China or something. Shades down, door bolted shut and airplane mode ON. Then spend the whole day (I'm in Europe, so the Event is at 6pm here) surfing old 7" tablet hater threads and trembling slightly with smugness, and checking out potential iPad mini cover manufacturers online. When the moment comes, I'll toast to Tim Cook as he enters the stage, let the waves of pleasure jolt through my body and just be all zen with that beautiful moment.

I've dreamt of a smaller iPad since the original one was released. This will be the perfect device - small enough to always have with you, yet big enough for quality web browsing, e-reading and gaming. Not to mention the most elegant midsize calendar and notepad imaginable. Nearly 3 years of waiting finally at an end.

How will you celebrate its arrival?

how are you going to pay for your iToys?

Taking the day off of work doesn't always mean a day off without pay for everyone. If I take the day (which I'm not in this case) I could use a paid vacation day, a paid personal day or a comp day and still get paid for it. :)

I know not everyone out there has those benefits, but many do. :)

How will I celebrate? Skim through the blogs on my lunch break, pre-order and get back to work. I prefer to save my vacation days for...vacations.

Smoked all of it already sorry :D

But why so bitter? Hmm...

This is sooo true, I work in the financial district in down town SF walking minutes within six different spots of stores that released the iphone, apple store included. For the 4 and the 4S the Apple store had a line wrapped around the corner at 5:30 am, two ATT stores close to Apple store had pre-order only signs on the door, Radioshack only had three phones shipped to them.
The At&t store accross the street from my bldg had only 15 people in front of me once I got in line. The woman came out took each of our names and told us that we were sure to get the phone of our choice. After 20min everyone in front of me including myself got the phone of our choice. Totally different situations with each location all within minutes of each other...crazy.

So you waited in line on launch day for the iPhone 5, and you're calling me crazy? Hmm, something's not right here...

The ipad mini only exsist in the minds of Apple fans, its as allusive as the tear drop iphone.

Ah, just as I thought. iPad mini disbeliever detected :D

I completely understand what you're talking about.

Keynotes are off days for me. I get a nice snack, a few beers, and lock my door for two hours.

I usually wait to take the release day off, but look forward to my lunch break to check the blogs from keynote.

Here in the UK these events are conveniently at 6pm. Food, beer, laptop, F5.

I stay home with the kids, so I don't get to take the day off. I will turn on a cartoon and attempt to watch it, but will probably be interrupted multiple times, just like with the iPhone 5.. ;)

I waited in line launch day for 25-30mins for the ip4. I work right across the street from ATT. I start my work day at 6am. Convenience is convenience.:p

Yes I was an ipadmini disbeliever, but now I'm about 98% sure its an Ipad mini of sorts.
