I'm thinking my fave reading chair, bunch of pillows and blankets, computer in my lap. A home made 5-story club sandwich with mayo AND guacamole, big ol' tumbler and a single malt from the cupboard. Prolly the 12 yr Bowmore. Big pot of coffee & still warm chocolate chip cookies.

Gonna call in sick and make friends & family think I went to China or something. Shades down, door bolted shut and airplane mode ON. Then spend the whole day (I'm in Europe, so the Event is at 6pm here) surfing old 7" tablet hater threads and trembling slightly with smugness, and checking out potential iPad mini cover manufacturers online. When the moment comes, I'll toast to Tim Cook as he enters the stage, let the waves of pleasure jolt through my body and just be all zen with that beautiful moment.

I've dreamt of a smaller iPad since the original one was released. This will be the perfect device - small enough to always have with you, yet big enough for quality web browsing, e-reading and gaming. Not to mention the most elegant midsize calendar and notepad imaginable. Nearly 3 years of waiting finally at an end.

How will you celebrate its arrival?

Um...if you're actually serious, I might suggest that this is more than a tiny bit over the top.

I am. I don't work, though, but I did.

Wait, let me get this straight. You don't work, but you're taking a day off...but you used to work at some time or another...but you don't work now...but since at one time you did work this is like taking the day off...even though you have nothing from which to take a day off.

Did I get that right??

I don't work on Tuesdays :) I'm a high school student so I don't work every day, and I'm also homeschooled so I'm gonna scramble to get everything done by noon so I can keep up with liveblogs of the event. Then that night I'll watch the keynote video once Apple posts it.

Apple product launch events have become rather predictable routine events. The same big hype, the new widget, the closing remarks. The blogosphere fawns over Apple as does the mainstream press.

Next it's the forums lighting up with new threads tracking every last detail of ordering shipping & such. The first deliveries are reported like aliens have landed, and the first bugs are reported.

The Apple worshipers jump out of the wood work to attack anyone who dare report a problem, using their deeply ingrained skill in denial. Calling the user names, blaming the problem on anything but the product, and reminding the buyer this can be a very hostile place.

Longing for days gone by, the disciples of Steve Jobs appear to put their spin on things. And all is well in AppleLand :)

I'll be off that day too! :) But, after trying to watch the iPhone 5 event, it wasn't as exciting as being able to watch it. A bunch of sites said they would be streaming it but it was like someone pulled the plug just as it started. Couldn't fine one site. I might just read the highlights/notes later.

OP thats just a little on the weird side dude, but I digress whatever floats your boat as long as its not hurting anyone else.

Is it just me or have keynotes lost their luster? I feel like lately we already know exactly what Apple is going to announce and exactly what its going to look like weeks in advance. There's just no surprise any more. That is of course our own fault for perusing rumor sites..... But it's hard to stay away so alas keynotes will be dull and unsurprising.

Retired but have told wife to not plan anything for me next Tuesday afternoon. Plan to be glued to my Mac with Engadget live reporting on the screen. Credit card is ready to order a 32GB WiFi version from Apple online store just as soon as released. Hope they release at a decent hour this time, getting up at 3AM is for the birds. Though I did learn a lot when I ordered the iPhone 5's. Fastest access was through the iPhone Apple Store app. So I guess I will need to load it on my iPhone.
