It’s a downgrade in every way from my 11, but dang, it’s such a cute phone! I LOVE the idea of having a smaller phone, but these old eyes just won’t let me.

Guess this is what my granddaughter will be getting when it’s her turn to get a phone - maybe they’ll be cheaper by then.

;-p

Yeah keep your 11 not worth it at all. Is not even worth it for anyone using the 10xmax

I think it’s a pretty cool offering for a lot of potential customers not needing or wanting to spend more for a bigger device.

For me, because I use an iPhone 6, and like the form factor, home button, and slimness, it makes sense to upgrade. For anyone who has a 7 or above it does not make sense to upgrade.

I have the 11 Pro and I´m really tempted. But the lack of night mode and the portrait mode apparently only for humans has stopped me.

Also the battery life... I'm curious how is going to be the supposed 5,4 inch iphone, if it´s smaller how battery is going to be; maybe similar to this SE or the 8 I think, unless the A14 is a beast on energy saving.

But the price and the 8 form factor is really tempting.

I'm on iPhone 7 and I'm upgrading to the SE2.

Battery's shot on my phone and it's better for me to just get the SE2 than do battery replacement for $78 ($49 battery + $29 express replacement). Plus the extra LTE bands would hopefully mean I can get better coverage/speed in the office and I really want dual SIM for travel (once that becomes an option again).

Hubby wants one as he wants the form factor, he’s on a 6S. I always said I’d get an 11 when we upgraded, I’m on a 6S Plus and we bought both phones 4 years ago, however I can’t justify an extra £380 just to get an 11 when the SE will do everything I want. I only use my phone when we go out and as that is very infrequently right now, and looks to be so for a good while, I’m going to try the SE. I can always return it within the returns period if I really hate it.

I do love the camera on my 11 also. That would probably hold me back. I have zero issues going back to touch ID. I kinda like it. My thing is, as much as I love the idea of a smaller phone, I don’t think it would really work well for me. I already hit all the wrong keys when I’m typing texts.

The new SE will have "zoomed view", which the 11 Pro doesn't have. That makes a difference to aging eyes. Also, if we keep having to wear a mask- Touch ID still works to unlock a grocery list in a store...

I'm one of the unfortunate few that gets headaches from the new phones since the X. Still using my 8+ and was all over this SE. Ordered it in the first 10 minutes. I honestly believe I've been trying to convince myself that I like the bigger phones but I find myself hardly able to wait to get my hands on this phone. Feel like I'm going back home after a long trip!!!

My girlfriend’s two-year-old Nokia 6.1 (costing approximately a quarter of the SE) has better specs! I prefer iOS. 😶

For me, I’m giving my current iPhone X to my mom. She has an iPhone 6+ and is complaining that it’s laggy to the point where she’s been pressing the screen Much harder...hehe. And I’m older now and no long in the mindset that I must have the greatest-and-latest.

I just ordered an SE and will give my daughter my XS (she currently has a 7). I miss the size and weight of the 6/7/8. These days I miss Touch ID. Also, my teenage daughter really wants a better camera. I will miss the camera but I also want to get out of the cycle of always wanting to upgrade for the camera: it is always disappointing in the end (I also had the 11 Pro briefly). It is still nowhere near as good as my sony rx100vi, which I almost always have with me anyway. And my interest free monthly payments will drop by two thirds. I feel like I too easily fell into thinking that buying a $1000+ phone every year or two was reasonable.

If you have the 11 you shouldnt even consider SE, not even for a second.

It’s just a device, there is no wrong or right. Besides, some buy them for their looks, some for their functionality, some for both - we are all different.

SE 128 White on the way

Have a Blue XR 128.. such a great phone I still don't feel like I should be lusting after any thing else, 11/11 Pro or this.. but the $200 off Walmart deal with ATT installments sealed it for me. $250 for a 128 is a no brainer.

Im really looking forward to touchID again, faceID has been annoying me a bunch recently (car sometimes, bed sometimes, mask on). Also at times the size gets exhausting, but I'm all over the place with phone sizes. and hopefully a more wieldable device. Would be nice to get in the mentality I had with SE1, of just casually checking things / responding to things vs. living on my phone.

I have relatively no experience with a 4.7" beyond a month, and when I temporarily user others'. It is the most new size to me, of any, which is funny because its a tired one dating from 6 back in 2014. Been a Plus / 4" diehard. oh well!

But I really wanted a black front white back iPhone, I haven't done this since 3gs. true there's the 5c, but never saw the point having a 5 and literally being the same thing an A6 like the 5 just for plastic and a color (plus was eyeing that blue 5c but didn't proceed). And true XR/11 white is black front white back but much less realized with a near full screen front, screen (little bezels, unrealized unless the phone screen is off)

Not committing to migrating to SE2 as the daily driver necessarily, my XR is jailbroken, but I will give it a good rundown and keep it as a backup at minimum if I sell my XR before the value drops like a rock with the 12 and 12Pro's later this year. Given SE2 probably won't get upgraded for many years like SE1, if at all (I think it will, Apple has scooped up the budget / low end android users market with a $400 phone), so will be nice to have a temporary between upgrades.

My dad has the 11 and he'd happily go back to his old iPhone 7 just to get a smaller phone again. Not possible at the moment since his line is on eSIM so would need to go to corporate store to transfer to Nano SIM.

To the people who complain about the notch, it must be more noticeable on the smaller phones, I hardly notice it on my Max.
