Does the 3G iphone have a loop to attach cell phone charms? That is going to be a big miss for Japan. I haven't seen many phones in Japan without a charm attached.

Ok stupid question. I live here in the US... Hawaii I know poor me.. lol

I plan on getting a 3G iphone and unlocking it. I will move to Japan dec this year.

Since it is unlocked, I should be able to put a docomo or AU or softbank sim card in the phone and in theory work right?

thanks ladies and gents!

International calling 010

Hello,

has someone heard of any convenient workaround for the lack of "+" softbank support for international calls ?

For those who haven't heard: if you want to call abroad, you've got to dial 010. However, since synced address books are more often than not using the "+" sign (for use with Skype for instance), you're in real trouble trying to call other countries (SMSing work though).

The only way is to make double entries of all your phone numbers. Not really convenient.

If someone knows a nice trick or knows how to write an app to circumvent this limitation, many japanese iPhone users would be extremely happy.

Cheers

Carrier settings

New carrier settings after the 2.0.1 update, but I get an 0xE8000001 whenever I try to get them.

There must be something to it as the 3G logo doesn't appear anymore on my phone, but the network is still available.

I guess no luck with the mapping of "010" to "+"...

Anyone has the same issues ?

Cheers
