I had this idea for a thread a long time ago, and am getting around to making it. My biggest issue is that the Maps app doesn't have an off-line map. Even if it would take up 2-3 GB, I would still want it.

Second is that the maps app doesn't offer bike directions.

Third is that Siri has to connect to the internet even for basic tasks like changing brightness. I wouldn't mind if Siri was a little more talkative when items come up on my calendar, it would be better if she told me instead of just an alert. Same with text messages from certain people if I'm driving. Say who it is from and ask if I would like her to read it.

A way to manage all your saved Wi-Fi networks… They ought to have provided this years ago, it is such a basic but important security enhancement.

I'll add this here...then hit up the 11 thread posted earlier:

A warning for people beginning to take video vertically. "Are you sure you want to take vertical video".

I have sent this in to Apple as a bug report. Funny thing is they closed it referring to another bug report someone else posted saying it was a duplicate. So others must be as bothered as I am by that behavior.

I'd settle for something that worked exactly like photos does. Think about it. Photos are files, they have an app dedicated just to them but also exists as this area of the os that allows other apps to read and write to them. That would be enough of a stop gap for me really. I keep thinking that's what the icloud app will become but alas, not so much.

For offline navigation (Navmii) I use a third party apps that works pretty good for it. It was only a few euros (once) and I've used it already in various countries.

I love and use iOS devices (iPad, iPhone) since 2009 I think. I have also tried Android a few years back though but ran back quite quickly after that because my Samsung Galaxy Nexus was really laggy. I love the stability and speed of my iDevices no matter how old they are. Although you do see that sometimes Apple pushes new iOS versions to older devices (3years+) that can't cope with the iOS and can get laggy then as well. It's not mandatory but Apples does push it a lot with notifications that you have to update.

In the recent few years Apple did implement quite a few great things people were asking for but it's definitely not there yet.

    Still waiting for:
    - Customizable Control Center (select your own apps)
    – Word swipe gesture support (like Gboard, Swype, Swiftkey, Path Input) in Apple’s own keyboard so you can remain using Siri and on lock screen
    – Systemwide dark mode for (stock) apps
    – Better UI for iPads, make use of the space
    – Allow Siri for third party keyboards
    – Allow third party keyboards on lock screen to quick reply to notifications
    – Slide Over selection of apps (remove the ones you don’t want to see and/or a search button)
    – Allow more user profiles on iPad also for consumers
    – Better support for URL schemes / demand apps to add this to their app and or certain features so I can easily start up certain features or apps via Launcher app + workflows see also the Workflow app
    – Ability to choose an order for wifi/3G/4G list of favorite networks so you connect to your own wifi (much quicker) instead of the wifi of your neighbor (free wifi from provider but much slower)
    - Set certain 3rd party apps as the main app for e.g. e-mail, music.
    - Choose for yourself if you would like to update to the latest iOS version without constantly putting notifications on your screen and auto installing the update and showing the '1' on the Settings app that there is an update.

Grouped notifications like the way Android does it. I despise the way my iPad lists every single notification from the same app one by one. Group them together if they're from the same app and let me expand them to see all the individual ones by swiping down on them.

Location based wifi settings. I'd like my iPhone wifi to turn off when I leave my house and turn back on when I return.

Maybe location profiles? Different sets of apps on your home screen depending on if you were at work, home, out and about, more than n miles from home, etc.

    Or even time-based profiles. Different iPhone behavior/appearance at 7am, 1pm, 7pm, 1am.

The ability to easily show which scripts a web page is running, and the ability for the user to block individual ones on a per site or global basis. Either as the default or as a settings choice, scripts should be blocked globally. The saved, user chosen blocked and allowed filters should be accessible to, and amendable by, the user.

This is my number one wish item for iOS. Years ago the grid made sense but I think after 10 years we can be trusted to move things around on our own...

Smart, contextual, location and time-aware notifications. Smart and automatic interchange of data between installed apps (i.e. in a imessage conversation I’m talking about some project and tasks that have to be done, and my task management app is automatically updated, or I talk about groceries and then shopping app is showing me the list of things I have to buy or order them on-line; of course, everything done on my phone, so no data being transferred to third-party). Stronger integration between spotlight and siri (something like text-based siri).

You can manage this from the Mac side of operations. If you're on iCloud, your saved Wi-Fi logins will save to iCloud, and you can manage it by going to Mac > System Preferences > Network, then Advanced (under Wi-Fi). This will sync right over to your iPhone/iPad/iPod/Mac - any device connected to iCloud.

But, yeah, it'd be nice to have this functionality baked right into iOS as well.

    -Full Dark mode!!
-Group notifications (they sort of had that pre iOS 10, have no idea why they removed it)
-Customisable Control Centre (or add at least a damn LTE toggle)
-A single paged Control Centre like it was pre iOS 10 without huge ass buttons
-More dynamic wallpapers or create APIs for developers to make them
    -Make widgets useful
-Ability to truly delete stock apps
    -Default apps selection
-Some kind of a proactive assistant to show me that I have new emails, messages, events in that day, etc. (it would be nice to have this on the lockscreen when I grab my iPhone in the morning when I wake up)
-iPad like PiP and multitasking on the bigger iPhones
    -Redesigned (iOS 6 style maybe)
-Tap to wake (not just for a brand new iPhone please, Android phones have this for years and if a 6s can have a raise to wake I can't find a reason why it could have the new model only like it's rumored!)

    And the biggest of all...

A COMPLETE REDESIGN! I hate how iOS looks since iOS 7.

Split screen multitasking, and all around improved multitasking really. Ability to choose default apps would be also be nice.
