Anyone have any suggestions to a (hopefully free) software program? I don't want to pay $29.99 for Quicktime Pro since I dont know if it will work.
The MPEG 2 is exported from my Tivo.
Thanks

It's not QuickTime Pro alone that you would need, you need the MPEG 2 Playback component which is only $19. MPEG Streamclip, and a few other converters, need that codec to do the actual conversion.

Groan. I had to finally pull the trigger on the MPEG-2 codec for Quicktime as I was having trouble getting a good audio/video rip from a DVD for a client.

I'm in Canada though, so I had to pay $33 with taxes for the blasted codec.

Oh Apple, I love you so, but your pricing sometimes makes me cringe!
