Software not installing

need advice...I got a replacement 7 plus today and while the iCloud backup was taking place a new software downloaded.

Now that the backup is complete, it continues to say that I can install it after the backup is complete. The backup has been complete for a couple hours.

I have powered on and off a couple of times but that's not working.
Any advice on what I could do?

Do you mean a new iOS 10 software update downloaded? Not sure I am following the issue here.

Yes, that's what I mean. It has downloaded but I cannot install it.

you may need to connect to wifi. whenever i update my ios the iphone says it must be plugged in to download and update the phone.

It eventually worked itself out somehow last night. Appreciate the suggestion.
