Someone has sent me a CD with .ogg files on it. I can't play them, so is there a way I can convert them to .mp3 files? I found software called ilovemp3, but it doesn't actually *do* anything when I set it going, as far as I can see.

Ogg is a multimedia container, which can hold audio encoded with several codecs.
* Ogg Vorbis (lossy): iTunes plugin or oggdec (included in vorbis-tools from Fink).
* Ogg FLAC (lossless): MacFLAC, FLACer or FLAC 1.1.1.

Find out what codec its using, then pick a matching tool to decode the files to PCM (WAV or AIFF).
Then afterwards encode with you favorite encoder. ;)
