Hi,

I am searching for a program to detect missing iTunes files.

For example this morning I was listening to a CD on a separate hi-fi and it turns out for some reason or another that when I compared it to the album on my iMac there was one missing track on my iTunes.

Is there such a program whereby the data from an album can be compared to an online database and for the missing track(s) to be shown?

Sounds like a good idea rather than going though albums manually.

Thanks,
Blair.

CD reissues often come with 'bonus' tracks now days.
The songs on your iTunes may have been those on the original 1983 LP, while your CD includes an extra song or two from when it was pressed in 2005.
There's really no way to make head or tails of this unless you have good info on dates and format. An auto-database could easily be wrong as often as right. I hate to say look it up manually on Wikipedia, but that does seem to be the only way to sort out issues like this, most of the time.
