software update is being weird/dumb

iTunes keeps telling me that I need to update to v 7.1.1 and i click yes but when software update opens and checks for updates, it says my software is up to date!!!!😡 😡 Any Help?

Try downloading from the iTunes website.

Other than that, I don't know what could be wrong with Software Update.
Try repairing permissions. (it can't hurt)
