Hey everyone,

I just installed Celestia (a program used to go through a 3D-like environment of space on your Mac) and then uninstalled it because it froze every time I opened the App. Now, after the uninstallation, my software updater simply won't update! When I check for updates manually (and automatically I'm guessing), it gives me this error message, "The application System Preferences quit unexpectedly. Mac OS X and other applications are not affected. Click reopen to open the applications again. Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple. Then it gives me a lengthy report (which I can't post on here and probably wouldn't make a difference anyway).

I don't know what is wrong with it, please someone, if you can, help me! I really hope this doesn't affect the rest of my OS X. :( Thank you.

Hmm... Try Spotlighting Software Update and PLIST to find all the preference files (three?) and remove them from their folders or delete them. The System will replace them next time you successfully open Software Updater. :)

Thanks, I'll try that. :)

EDIT: How do I find PLIST? I tried spotlight but comes up with other files. :S Lol, sorry but I'm a new Mac user. :p
