Has anyone else had this problem after upgrading to Tiger? I've waited days after new releases to software I have on my computer (i.e iTunes, iPhoto, et al) have been updated, and I always have to manually open Software Update to see what's new. Not that big of a deal, but I never had to do this pre-tiger. Any suggestions? 😕

You need to be an administrator or it won't ask. Try it. Make a new account with administrator privileges and as soon as you log in. It asks.

I am the administrator

I'm guessing it's all turned on in the System Preferences. 😱

Maybe ditch the preferences.
