Just a quick one that I'd like an answer to - my girlfriend recently got an iPhone, which came with 4.0 software. We managed to register her phone with iTunes and everything, but her computer is a bit rubbish to be honest and it is very slow! So instead of doing the update to 4.1 on her computer, can I use my laptop to do it? Would I encounter any problems doing it that way?

    Cheers!

I don't think it would be a problem as long as you don't sync her phone to your laptop.

You would wipe all of her stuff off her phone and put your library onto it.

    That should be right.

I upgraded my iPhone's software using a different computer recently and it was fine. It shouldn't even try and sync unless you ask it to.

That is correct as long as you have Prevent Ipod,Iphone from Syncing When Connected checked. It is the setting under preferences.

Even in that case I think you're ok. I'm pretty sure it gives you a warning that stuff will be erased and you have to click 'ok' to continue. So you have the chance to stop it.
