I am looking at my unsupported High Sierra install and it says there is a software update avaliable thorugh the App Store. Is it safe to install it or will it break my installation?

I'm seeing an update in your future, it's very faint but I think it's an update for, mmm, it's very dim and hard to make out.
What version of High Sierra are you running and what is the update for?

10.13.6 I believe and it is a security update and iTunes among other things. Those are the two most prominently listed.
The Safari and iTunes updates are safe to run, the security update will appear to fail part way through.

Ok, Thanks. Am I understanding correctly that it is safe to install the update and it fails when trying to update the recovery partition?
