Software Update Problem

Hi,

Whenever I download a Leopard system update through Software Update I receive a message to the effect that "the update has been moved to the trash as I don't have sufficient privileges to save the file." This only happens with system software and not application updates. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Do you have the admin account? or multi user? or something?

Be sure you're logged into an account with administrator privileges before running the update.

Yup, I'm logged in as admin. In fact, I have no problem installing the updates when I download them directly from the Apple download site.

Try repairing disk permissions. If that doesn't correct the problem, try this in Terminal:

sudo chmod -R g+w /Library/Updates
