Every time i run a software update it would check for new software and load up to 75% then just stop. I have been having this trouble for about a month now and I ran it for 3 hours once and it still didn't gain anything. Anyone know how to fix this? 🙁

Try this: Open up Home folder, click Library then Preferences. Locate com.apple.softwareupdate.plst and move it to the desktop, then try running Software Update again.

Something to try out. Open Terminal and enter the following command,
Code:
softwareupdate -l
That's a lowercase L at the end. The command will list any software updates you need, just like the GUI version.

Software Update - error 1001

Try this: Open up Home folder, click Library then Preferences. Locate com.apple.softwareupdate.plst and move it to the desktop, then try running Software Update again.

Thank you for this simple help! After over 1 year of trying I can finally update my system! Thank you!
