Hi
Can someone please tell me how i change the software update server, as at the moment it checks my school update server, however it is the hols and i need to download of the apple update servers

You can update manually if you know what update you are missing by searching for it on http://support.apple.com/downloads. I think the setting for the update server is stored in your com.apple.softwareupdate.plist in either ~/Library/Preferences or /Library/Preferences so removing it and letting the OS rebuild it should revert it to default.
