Software update

the software update prompt keeps coming up at startup and says it cannot connect to the internet. This pisses me off, because I have all of the updates. Is there a way to fix this?

Go to System Preferences -> Software Update and uncheck the box that says check for updates.

I did that and it still comes up at startup.

Have you inadvertently added software update to your login items?

It seems so. Just deleted it from startup items and everything is fine now but when I start up firefox, a window comes up that says to drag the icon to the applications folder. How do I get rid of this?

Never mind the above post. I figured it out myself. Thank you for all of the help 🙂
