I have a MacBook and when I try to preform an software update the computer seems to be going to my company server and not to Apple. How do i point the software update to Apple.

You should not need to do anything normally. Your having this issue because your are most likely behind a your companys "transparent" proxy.
How you see your going there? How are you updating your system? Normally there is no web browser involved when  -> Software update. Screenshot would be nice 😀
