Hello,

I have browsed the forum for an answer to my problem, but none of the "fixes" worked for me.

Each time I try to check for updates the blue bar progresses almost to the end then suddenly quits. I deleted the cashes, all of them, and the plist and still no updates. This is what the "problem details are" except the 3 pages of gobbledygook that I cannot understand:

Identifier: com.apple.SoftwareUpdate
Version: 3.0.4 (181)

Code Type: X86 (Native)

Date/Time: 2009-07-14 14:40:18.241 -0500
OS Version: Mac OS X 10.5.6 (9G55)
Report Version: 6

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: 0x000000000000000a, 0x000000001b3c7000

Any help would be great!
