Just bought a new Macbook Pro and loving it but when I try to do the software updates, they don't install properly. When I search for updates, I get 9 available downloads (itunes, garage band etc) but when I start the update it works for a few minutes then stops about 20% through the process.

Anyone know why this would be?

Many thanks

How long have you left it for, have you tried them individually ?

Left it for about an hour last night but it always locks at one point (downloaded eg 17.1mb of 36mb) and doesn't progress.

Tried downloading only 4 but not tried one at a time, will give it a go, thanks.

Any other advice would be welcome

do you have intermittent wireless signal? Mine did that before, but my connection was spotty.

My symptoms aren't quite the same but similar result. Try going to /Library/Updates and deleting any files you find there and then run again. That at least got me a little further along.

Alternatively update manually by downloading the updates from Apple.

I can't load 10.5.3, seems to hang. Have tried manually but it doesn't like my volume and doesn't tell me why. Currently creating some space in case that's the cause.
